NAS Extreme

The Monash University Kickboxing Club was not represented at NAS Round 1, as it was on earlier in the year than usual (due to the Commonwealth Games) and our regular classes have not yet begun.

The new rules dubbed "NAS Extreme" rewarded more difficult techniques such as high kicks, spinning kicks to the body & takedows with legal follow-up with 2 points, and spinning & jumping kicks aimed at the head with 3 points. Punches and other kicks to the body are still awarded 1 point.

These new rules implemented in the Black Belt Divisions saw many more spectacular high kicks and fantastic spinning kicks attempted, and quite a few of those awarded as well. This has made the competition more exciting to watch as a spectator and more challenging as a competitor.

For more info on the new "NAS Extreme", see the National All Styles Website.
