National All Styles Championships - Round 2

Qualifying Round 2 of the National All Styles Championships will be on this Sunday 15 May at Springers Leisure Centre, 400 Cheltenham Road, Keysborough.

Two of our Members, Matthew Gillet and Scott Gyngell will be representing the Monash University Kickboxing Club at the NAS Tournament.

Matt and Scott have been training for the NAS for the last few weeks and will be competing in the Male Novice Point Sparring and Continuous Sparring Divisions. They are scheduled to be on Ring Three in the afternoon, after lunchtime. However, keep in mind that a division can be moved to another ring in the interest of time.

This is an Official Kickboxing Club Event, and all Kickboxing Club Members are encouraged to attend the NAS Tournament as spectators to support and cheer on our guys. Spectator fees are only $8 and the Tournament runs for the whole day - from 9am to about 5pm.

Those of you who want to compete in the NAS Tournament (or think you might be interested in competing) are required to attend at least one NAS Tournament as a spectator before you will be allowed to represent the Kickboxing Club in that Tournament.

This allows you to get a feel for the atmosphere, learn how the Tournament is run, understand the rules and how they are interpreted by Tournament Officials, know what is expected of you as a competitor, and observe the standard and styles of your potential opponents.

Don't forget to wear your Kickboxing Club T-Shirt or Singlet on the day and remember that even as a spectator, you will also be representing the Kickboxing Club at the Tournament, so be on your best behaviour.

Hope to see you all there on Sunday!
