Maestro Robert Halaijian's Street-Fighting Seminar

The Kickboxing Club regularly hosts Seminars and Workshops for Members to broaden their experience of the Martial Arts and learn things they wouldn't otherwise learn in our normal group classes.

There are some aspects of the Martial Arts that are better taught in Seminar format where students can focus on specific topics, get into certain modes of thinking, experiment with techniques and scenarios, as well as ask lots of questions!

Our first Seminar of 2005 is on Street-Fighting, and will be taught by Maestro Robert M. Halaijian.

Maestro Robert is a 6th Degree Black Belt, graded by Grandmaster Dionisio A. Canete of the legendary Doce Pares Group of Cebu, Philippines.

During the 12 years that Robert has been teaching Martial Arts, he has trained World Class Full-Contact Stick-Fighters, many high-profile Instructors from other Martial Arts styles, as well as members of the Australian Police Force, Security Guards, and Prison / Correctional Officers.

He is the Founder and Chief Instructor of the A.I.M. Academy (the parent association of the Monash University Kickboxing Club) and we are privileged to have Maestro Robert start the year off for us with this Seminar – definitely not to be missed!

This Street-Fighting Seminar will cover many aspects of self-defense scenarios from both the physical and psychological angles, focusing on unarmed as well as armed combat.

It will be based on Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Filipino Kickboxing, as well as the Filipino Martial Arts (known as Eskrima, Kali or Arnis), and is suitable for all men and women, beginners to advanced. No experience is necessary.

Kickboxing Club Members can bring friends or family along to the Seminar if you think they'd be interested or you feel that they will benefit from this training.
